Let's Catch Up!
Hello Everyone!
I know that it has been a long a** time since I wrote on my blog! So, I just want to catch you up with what I have been up to!
When One Door Closes, Another Door Opens
First, the last time I was on here, I launched my jewelry business (Jeweltorious). However, within a year of the relaunch (formerly Jeweltorious by L.A.C.), I decided to close the business. The reason why I closed the business was because I was no longer passionate about it. I felt that I had no emotional connection to it. The jewelry I sold on Jeweltorious were by wholesalers, so I felt that there was no personal touch to the business (besides the website). I think I had a good run though, especially since The Wall Street Journal and Cosmopolitan Magazine reached out to me about the business. If I had kept going, then I know it would have been a big success, but it did not feel right to keep going since I no longer had that burning passion to run it. I do see myself having another online business, but done differently.
Second, I decided to start a podcast called Self Love Baddie. It is about my personal self love journey. I post two episodes per month, which is really convenient for me. I even sell merchandise for the podcast. Although Self Love Baddie is a podcast, I incorporated it as a limited liability company (LLC) because I do believe that I can take it to the next level and scale it. I feel that the podcast fulfills me in terms of helping women across the world on their self love journey. Also, recording each episode is therapeutic for me. This is a way for others to get to know me on a more personal level as well.
All about me
At this point in my life, I am really focused on myself (emotionally, mentally, and physically). I want to make sure that Lauren is doing well and trying to be the best Lauren can be. That is why I try not to put too much on my plate anymore. The last time I updated this blog, I was definitely stressed out. We were in the middle of the pandemic and not able to visit our loved ones. Around that time, I was in a dark space and I was working very hard on Jeweltorious. Towards the end of 2020, I decided to start therapy, which is amazing (I encourage everyone to start therapy). Since I started therapy, my whole mood has changed! I feel like I am back to my old self. I actually didn’t realize that I was in such a dark space for such a long time (even way before the pandemic). I am taking time to do the things that make me happy, spend time with genuine people, and connect with myself.
So, what about the blog?!
