The Fashtorious L.A.C. is a personal style and self-love blog created by me, Lauren Ashley Corbett.

This blog was launched in August 2017 and its primary purpose was to showcase my sense of style. As time went on, I realized that most of my fashion pictures were accompanied with motivational advice geared towards millennial women. Writing these type of blog entries fulfilled me more than just posting style pictures; therefore, I decided to add a self-love section.

I believe that you can look great on the outside, but if you don’t love yourself, then your outwardly appearance doesn’t mean ish!

Also, I am not just eye candy, but soul food. This means that I want my readers (you) to connect with me on a deep level. I’m not here to just give you style inspiration, but to come along with you on your self-love journey <3

Reason Behind the Blog Name

I always loved all the artists and aesthetic of Bad Boy Records. They exude the perfect mix of gritty and luxury. To pay homage to the late and great Brooklyn-born rapper, The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie), I decided to name my blog, The Fashtorious L.A.C. There is a meaning behind the word, “fashtorious.”

Fashtorious (adj) – famous or well-known for fashion.

Fun Facts About Me

I’m originally from the DMV area. No, not the Department of Motor Vehicles. DMV stands for District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
I’m a 9 to 5 shawty! For five years (and counting), I’ve been a federal government employee.
I graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUArts) with a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Merchandising and minor in business.
I consider myself to be a stylish nerd. I am really into business and personal development books.
I’ll bring that spice to ya life because I’m an Aries!
I want to be a honorary member of Bad Boy Entertainment (“Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop!”).
My style is heavily influenced by the women in my family (particularly, my mother) and the music I listened to growing up.
